Why are we still living in the dark ages over here? I have oft-wondered why Europe hasn’t figured out plumbing yet. It’s really not that hard.

My dell was killed after only using it for a year and a half and I beat the crap out of it. I also beat the crap out of my mac that i've had since January and it's still ticking. I've also only broken one cord for my mac since I got it and it wasn't even my fault... my dell had something like 16 cords in a year and a half... Make sure you have someone, or some organization, to gift it too when you leave the area. On a side note, I am sad that I can't force you to listen to my Harry Potter psycho babble for the next week.
